Current Work

American Archivist
Editorial Board member (2021-2025)

Experience

Reference and Instruction Assistant
Archibald S. Alexander Library,
New Brunswick, NJ
September 2018-June 2019

I staffed the Alexander Library reference desk, helping students, faculty, staff, and local patrons find information and materials on a variety of topics (both in-person and over the telephone), as well as provided information about our services and events, and technical assistance. I also taught a welcome seminar for transfer students about the Rutgers Library facilities and services, as well as information literacy - including due diligence in search and discovery technique and citation methods. Periodically, I assisted the librarians with special projects, including consolidating collections in preparation for renovation work.

I also frequently went above and beyond my responsibilities, guiding students in how they think about the writing process—from choosing essay topics, actioning their research process, building an argument, structuring their essays, and incorporating primary source material.

Archival Assistant (Volunteer)
National Archives and Records Administration,
New York, NY
June 2017-March 2019

Processed and re-housed record groups and created folder-level listings and finding aids, including creating/entering descriptive metadata. Assisted in digitization, including the Alger Hiss case file digitization project. Record groups processed include groups relating to the Northeastern United States Water Supply survey and building works/maintenance on Ellis Island, circa 1890s-1940s.

Welcome Ambassador (Volunteer)
